Ali leads all aspects of the firm’s research and investment process. Ali brings over 20 years of industry experience as an equity analyst and portfolio manager with a focus on MENA equities. Prior to co-founding Vergent, Ali was at FIM Partners (previously part of Duet Group) where he oversaw the research and portfolio management functions for the MENA equity strategy (+$1.2 billion AUM). Ali was named the most consistent MENA equity manager by Citywire in July 2015 and garnered top ranking among MENA equity managers by the same publication in September 2016. Ali has a BAH in Economics from Queen’s University in Canada and is a CFA charter holder.
